Summer Fun!

Arie has been busy this summer so far! She loves to play with her friends, have pool parties, play with her play gym, swing and lay around and watch tv with her personal body guard Gussy!

This weekend Arie's cousins were in Fargo for a soccer tournament so we went to watch, Arie loved the soccer game-she was so exhausted afterwards she slept from 4:30to 10pm.....we enjoyed a nice dinner, shopping and a movie while she slept! I learned when she woke up and was ready for a whole night awake that I also should have slept when she did! Lesson learned!

Beautiful Baptism

We had Arie baptised on Sunday it was a beautiful service and she was a total champ. She was is mesmerized by the music and just sat in my lap and didn't make a peep the entire time. She even liked the holy water on the forehead-what a trooper! We had lot of family there and then all made our way back to our house for a little lunch and lots of happy cake to celebrate! It was nice of all the dads to share their Father's Day with Arie's baptism. When the dust settled from the big party I asked Joel what he wanted to do for Father's Day and he said "sit in my recliner in the basement and watch the U.S Open" haha-done! We all got our comfy clothes on Arie had a quick bath and we headed to the basement to relax. Arie actually was so pooped out she fell asleep at 6:00pm and didn't move or make a peep until 1:00am!

The Big 2-8!

Olivia helping me with the candles on my happy cake!

Arie and I ready to go to Ron and Christina's open house-Pretty in Pink!

Another year older, 28...wow that seems old!

We celebrated my birthday this weekend with a wonderful date night on Friday. Joel and I went to Doolittle and enjoyed a dinner alone-something you definitely take for granted before you have a baby! We lived it up and had drinks...one glass of wine for me, an appetizer and of course a main dish! Thanks Mark and Lynn for the dinner and for watching Arie! We went back to their place after dinner for "happy cake" with the rest of the family where Olivia sang me Happy Birthday and danced around! I got a new paid of black patent leather shoes from the Kalbus's! You can never go wrong with new shoes!!! I actually got two new pairs of shoes for my birthday! Spoiled I know! Joel got me some sandals I have been wanting and a new book-Mommywood! I'm looking forward to reading it!

Congrats to Ron and Christina who celebrated their nuptials on Saturday with an open house, even though the weather wasn't the best it was a great day filled with lots of food and family!

Little miss social butterfly

Well we had a really busy Memorial weekend! Arie is such a little party animal! It started with Arie and I taking our very first road trip together all by ourselves to Brainerd! I was incredibly nervous but it was all for nothing, Arie did great and slept the entire time! That night we went to my grandparents house so Arie could meet her great grandparents-they of course loved her and we so excited to meet her! We then had a fun night outside with grandma and grandpa and my good friend Jessica and her kids Landon and Brekyn who is 2 days older than Arie. They became the best of friends already! Saturday started bright and early with a little garage saling and then we had a open house for all of my relative to come and meet the newest addition. Arie again slept the whole day and enjoyed the fresh air and being passed around from relative to relative! She is a very loved little girl and is so lucky to have all that wonderful fa,ily and friends in her life. After the open house we went to a pool party at Jessica's parents new house where Arie met a few more new friends, Eva Clough and Ada Devries! It was such beautiful day, I even got up enough courage to put a swim suit on and enjoyed a little dip in the pool and a delish margarita! It was a great time! Sunday we got up early and headed back to Fargo where we had a little BBQ at Grandma and Grandpa Sperals so Arie could meet Luke Winzenburg-who claims Arie is the very first baby he has ever held! He did great! After that we headed to an open house for Joel's cousin Laura who graduated from West Fargo Highschool! Congrats Laura, we are so proud of you!

Monday rolled around before we knew it and we did some planting and yard work, Arie helped out by lounging in her bouncy seat and enjoying the fresh air! Monday night we went to yet another party, Joel's cousin Owen and Luke's birthdays and Luke graduated as well! Needless to say it was a crazy weekend and we crashed hard Monday night! We have loads of laundry to be done and a house to clean but Arie and I are going to take it easy today and relax, im enjoying my coffee as I update the blog and Arie is taking a little morning snooze in her bouncy!

And a happy birthday to my good friend Emily who celebrated lucky number 28 on the 30th wish we could have been here to celebrate with you-love you!
